Valleys, Rivers and Rainbows…

Zambia is home to (half) of the magnificent ‘Mosi oa Tunya’ – the Smoke that Thunders, AKA Victoria Falls. A thunderous curtain of gushing Zambezi waters or dramatic rocky cliff-face dependent upon the season, this has to be a ‘bucket-lister’ for anyone visiting. Beyond the Victoria Falls lie some of Africa’s oldest protected parks, the wild and rugged Lower Zambezi, the stunning Luangwa Valley and the diverse Kafue to name but a few. Further afield the imposing Shiwa Ngandu – the original Africa House offers a colonial style architecture juxtaposed with the vibrant red earth.

Zambia is huge, she welcomes you with an open heart and beckons you to explore. Home to the second largest wildebeest migration and undeniable conservation success that is the Liuwa Plains in the west , and to the lapping shores of Lake Tanganyika in the north. One could spend a lifetime heading back to Zambian soil, only for so much to still remain unexplored! Traditional, rustic luxury safari options abound, with some of the very best guiding in Africa, and for those looking to explore from the saddle there are overnight riding adventures to the south.
